Mercè Pau | Communications Consultant
A Bit About Me
Europe is where I was born; Asia is where I found my purpose—using communications to drive social impact. My roots are in Lleida, Spain, but after years of living and working in Myanmar, Thailand, and Malaysia, I built deep connections that feel like family—the kind you choose.
For a long time, I felt torn between these two worlds. But I’ve come to realize that real impact happens when we bridge them—bringing together ideas, cultures, and sectors to drive meaningful change.
At my core, I am a journalist, having started my career at La Vanguardia, one of Spain’s leading newspapers. My journey then led me to UNOPS Myanmar, where I transitioned into strategic communications. Over the past 12+ years, I’ve worked across Asia and Europe, leading digital media, PR, content, and branding strategies for more than 30 organizations, including:
→ International NGOs (FHI 360, Media in Cooperation and Transition, VSO)
→ UN agencies (UNFPA, UNOPS)
→ Government agencies (Singapore Tourism Board)
→ Corporate brands (Coca-Cola, Johnson & Johnson, FC Barcelona)
I’ve worked across every aspect of communications —events, social media, TV commercials, branding, and advocacy— and a wide range of industries —tech, consumer goods, FMCG—. But after experiencing Myanmar’s military coup firsthand, I knew I wanted to use my skills for something greater. Now, as a Communications Consultant, I help purpose-driven projects find their voice, amplify their impact, and inspire action.
Whether it’s tackling social issues, amplifying grassroots voices, or building purpose-driven digital campaigns, I thrive on turning ideas into impact. Let’s create something meaningful together. ✨
