Brief
Exile Hub is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting human rights defenders and media professionals from Myanmar. Established in response to the 2021 attempted coup, the organization provides critical resources and assistance to those forced into exile due to political persecution or conflict.
To amplify its impact, Exile Hub sought a strategic communications framework to enhance its outreach efforts and raise awareness about the challenges faced by Myanmar’s human rights defenders.
Mercè's Contribution
Mercè developed a comprehensive communications strategy, refining the organization’s key messaging and narrative. Her approach placed human rights defenders' voices at the forefront, emphasizing ethical storytelling to foster deeper connections with audiences and potential donors.
For World Press Freedom Day, Mercè conceptualized and launched a powerful global campaign from the ground up. The month-long initiative, Only My Voice Left, shed light on the plight of Myanmar’s journalists—many of whom have lost everything except their voices. The campaign built a digital library of voices where exiled journalists shared their personal stories via voice messages, reflecting on the significance of their voices and the urgency of preserving press freedom in Myanmar.
Results
The campaign achieved widespread recognition, receiving extensive media coverage, gaining traction across social media, and attracting thousands of visitors to the organization's website. (Specific metrics remain confidential).
