Youth Beyond Borders (Networks for Peace)
Brief
Despite being often overlooked, youth’s involvement is crucial in driving positive change. They bring fresh perspectives, innovative ideas, and a deep understanding of the issues that affect their communities. Recognizing youth’s potential, Kenan Foundation Asia (Kenan) and Sri Lanka Unites engaged youth from South and Southeast Asia to serve as key agents in promoting regional harmony. As part of Networks for Peace, the project Youth Beyond Borders created a supportive environment of learning and exchange, and empowered youth with the skills and confidence to initiate their own peacebuilding projects. To further expand its reach and highlight its impact, the project sought to enhance its communication efforts.

Mercè's Contribution
Mercè played a pivotal role in shaping and executing the communications strategy to amplify the impact of Youth Beyond Borders. She spearheaded the development of engaging social media content, incorporating compelling visuals, impactful videos, and personal stories that highlighted the voices and experiences of young changemakers.

To create these dynamic materials, Mercè conducted in-depth interviews, and worked closely with youth to ensure authentic and resonant storytelling. Her approach not only captured the essence of their efforts but also fostered a sense of ownership and empowerment among participants.

In addition to content creation, Mercè provided strategic oversight of youth-led campaign branding, ensuring consistency and alignment with USAID’s branding and marking guidelines.
Results
Through Mercè's efforts, the project’s message was both visually cohesive and effectively communicated, strengthening its reach and influence. The social media content developed achieved record-breaking engagement on USAID Asia’s channels, attracting sustained public interest and interaction at an unprecedented level.
